Talking to Yourself/Woman’s Best Friend

When you set up a new blog, you feel a bit as though you are talking to yourself.  That isn’t all bad.  After all, isn’t that why we have dogs?  Here’s a poem that may be related:

WOMAN’S BEST FRIEND

Dogs love the sound
of our voices.
That’s why they’re
woman’s best friend.

  1. Oh, Bluebee, but now I find myself talking to the plants sometimes. It sounds like you have lucky neighbors.

  2. bluebee says:

Ha, ha – this is just lovely and oh, so true. Sure beats talking to the indoor plants! We look after a friend’s terrier sometimes and those little ears are always listening out for the chance at conversation (he ‘talks’ back). Our neighbour’s cat, too. Comes over every afternoon and calls at the back door for his brush.

  3. Love your prose/poetry, Pen.

that is a truth, so well spoken.
a dog as woman’s best friend.
    those loving eyes so clear
    full of honesty, without fear
will keep you company, ’til the journey’s end….

    thanks Monica, loved your poem.
