Presidents’ Day/Fondly Remembering Richard Nixon

 Richard Nixon (??)

Poor, poor pitiful me
Richard Nixon looks good, you see
I never thought, in all my days,
that I could utter such a phrase
To China he went and opened the door
NEPA enacted, he carried the floor
Rough spots on the way, can’t make too light
Watergate burglars went bump in the night
But all in all, I must declare,
he used his office to get us where
we didn’t know
we needed to go*
 (*That’s my definition of leadership.)

a grey area with grey people – that puts things in perspective. I know you dream in color, Pen, so all-grey would be flat and listless.

I think we have to accept that sometimes politics is a very, very grey area, Monica, and there are so many grey people in office, mayhap just by them being there we can keep tabs? or at least the newspapers can, (the only good thing about some newspaper reporting methinks) …. xPenx

  3. Monica says:

Are we in big trouble, Pen, when corrupt effectiveness looks good?

  4. penpusherpen says:

yup, it seems in the most corrupt politicians can have their day in the limelight Monica, and make something so good happen out the murky gloom .. xPenx
