Alligator Skin Glow

Alligator Skin Glow

Alligator skin spine of the earth
mountain fastness covered in white
bathed in blue-rose glow
irregular teeth vie with valleys
winding rivers of unknown flow
relief fades into evening
heights blend into depths
blue horizon disappears
over the edge of sight.

I really like this Poem Monica and the visuals
from thirty five thousand feet must be a wicked
experience to say the very least… You have given
the reader a glimpse of your insight my fine friend
and with an imagination one can truly absorb the
wording within your script… Be well now

Not very long ago, they had prop planes to Yellowstone. You could fly low and see your favorite lakes and rivers. Now the jets fly so high, it’s like looking from outer space. I thought of you, Pen, and can only imagine how you would paint the view.

I know it sounds weird, but that’s what came to mind.

I agree with Sandy, Monica, your words draw an intricate picture in ones mind, and I’m sitting here imagining myself viewing the scene you’ve created by your descriptive words. “Alligator skin spine of the earth” … an instant and graphic picture … Such a simply wonderful poetic tribute to natural nature….. xPenx

What a picture your words paint. I love the idea of the alligator spine.
