Alligator Skin Glow
Alligator skin spine of the earth
mountain fastness covered in white
bathed in blue-rose glow
irregular teeth vie with valleys
winding rivers of unknown flow
relief fades into evening
heights blend into depths
blue horizon disappears
over the edge of sight.
Hi Whitebuffalo! Thank you! I very much enjoyed what I found on your blog and plan to visit lots more. It’s a visual as well as a poetic delight.
O Monica, I have been reading and enjoying your paens to the muse poetic. I really like this Alligator concept. Hello.
You are very kind, my dear friend. So glad to see you posting again.
Hello my dear Monica.
Such an elegant observation and equally elegant verse.
Clever Lady you.
Kenny.
Thanks so much, Bluebee – and another word I have learned from you!
You have captured the ancient scarifications of the earth and the changing-light perspectives of flight so beautifully here, Monica.
I enjoyed it very much and will be back! Thank you!
Thank you for visiting and for showing me the way to your site. Special poems.
Depending on the light they all have different colors. Strange and wonderful creatures.
nice poem
Very creative, the alligator skin appeals with its glow! Thanks for your visit to my place!
Thank you very much, Laz!
Love this one too, Monica 🙂
Got my imagination moving!
All the Best,
Peace,
Laz
Thank you, Androgoth — and we know you have a fine imagination.
I really like this Poem Monica and the visuals
from thirty five thousand feet must be a wicked
experience to say the very least… You have given
the reader a glimpse of your insight my fine friend
and with an imagination one can truly absorb the
wording within your script… Be well now

Not very long ago, they had prop planes to Yellowstone. You could fly low and see your favorite lakes and rivers. Now the jets fly so high, it’s like looking from outer space. I thought of you, Pen, and can only imagine how you would paint the view.
I know it sounds weird, but that’s what came to mind.
I agree with Sandy, Monica, your words draw an intricate picture in ones mind, and I’m sitting here imagining myself viewing the scene you’ve created by your descriptive words. “Alligator skin spine of the earth” … an instant and graphic picture … Such a simply wonderful poetic tribute to natural nature….. xPenx
What a picture your words paint. I love the idea of the alligator spine.
